was tidying up my room just now and i realised i've been getting better at being lazy and can procrastinate longer; at least in the beauty and body care dept.
eyelash curler
pretty much untouched this year. and i totally forgot about mascara until i saw my friend at ivy the other night.
eyeliner
has been blunt for months so i only use it when i need the gothic look. finally sharpened it just now
brushes
stopped washing them every week and i can't remember when was the last time i did. therefore, no eyecolor but luckily i have a roll-on eyecolor as backup. as for foundation, i now use fingers. the only brush i use now is blusher (no way out really unless i get a roll-on blusher as well). washed the brushes just now too.
comb
don't need to use it anymore. less one item to wash. yay!
nail color
hardy used it this year so it all hardened. what a waste! and i got a manicure set from colleague for christmas. she said "you color your nails right?" i was like "ermm... yeah". lol. well, i used to and i'm going to start again tonight.
body salt scrub
still a quarter left since last year's christmas! gotta use it this weekend.
facials & spa visits
none this year, i think

silly me
i put a dvd movie into the dvd player and press play. the room was filled with chinese instrumental music with no video on the tv. and the player was making noise reading the disc. it's so strange. this has never happened before. i stopped the player and ejected the disc. surprise, surprise! when i took the disc out, i found it strange why the disc is so thick. only then did i realise that there's 2 disc smacked together. so the player was playing my dad's cd just now. i didn't look when i put the dvd in. hahaha! and i thought i got cheated by the dvd seller.
guess i really do need a break but next month's schedule too tight. sigh!

beautiful penang
it feels so nice taking a ferry ride in the morning with clear skies and gentle breeze. instead of rushing over on the bridge, you get to relax and enjoy the ride. i think i'll make ferry ride a must have when i visit next time. as usual, the food in penang is awesome. this time, i didn't get to have any of those famous hawker food; fried keow teow, laksa, penang mee, etc etc. instead i get to have good seafood. my client brought me to this seafood restaurant that serves tasty chicken wings, super sweet 'la la' and they even have fried ice cream in a doughnut dough! however, i definately won't know how to get there again. then for last night's dinner, we had steak and ribs at one of the restaurants along burma road. when i looked at the menu, i was quite surprised at the type food they serve. good food there as well. we went to this teow chew restaurant at chai leng park for lunch today. the soup base for their porridge and noodles is delicious. and they are plenty of seafood in there as well. too bad i couldn't stay for the weekend, just too much work needs to be done at the office. really feel like taking a break and stay here for a few days. next weekend maybe?

FedEx Furniture
"Most of us have been there. You can just barely afford to pay the rent. But forget about buying furniture -- not if you want to eat, anyway.
Jose Avila recently found himself in just that predicament. Although he has a good job as a software developer, he's locked into two rents after moving to Arizona, and has no extra cash for an Ikea shopping spree. But instead of scouting street corners for a ratty, unwanted couch, Avila got creative and built an apartment full of surprisingly sturdy furniture -- out of FedEx shipping boxes."

London bombing: Death toll > 50
thank god my sis is ok. i was lucky to get her on the phone that day and we chat for almost an hour. i heard that the phone network was jammed up and a lot of calls couldn't get through. my mom's phone rang non stop. grandma, aunts and uncles called her to check on my sis. some tried to call my sis directly but couldn't get through. i kinda get the feel of what happened over at this end on 9/11; probably not as intense as new york is pretty far away from chicago but one end of london to the other end of london is pretty close.
my sis didn't go to town that day. her job assignment was in town for the next day but she was advised not to go. the bombing didn't affect much of her surroundings as she lives in the suburbs. just the usual patrol guy and helicopter are missing. they're probably being depatched to help out in town. i hope all of her housemates are ok. they don't have a working tv at home so it most probably won't take an emotional toll on her. this incident just brings back the memories of 9/11. :(

marvin has always been one of my fav bots. after watching him in the new hg2g movie, marvin is so much cuter than how i imagined him to be. hehehe. so i'm going to get the 10" MARVIN ROTO ACTION FIGURE. anyone seen this selling here, let me know.
This poseable plastic and vinyl version of everyone's favorite manic-depressive robot features light-up eyes and a poseable body.

fairytale
been crazy about this song lately and it's easy to remember that i can sing along!
Translation
michael wong - fairytale
forgot how long it was
not hearing you anymore
telling me your favorite fairy tale
I thought for a long time
I started to worried
Did I do something wrong again?
You cried and told me
fairy tale is a lie
It's impossible for me to be your prince
or maybe you don't understand
since the day you said you love me
the stars in my sky are brighter
I wish I was the angel in the fairy tale
the angel that you love
open out my hand
transformed into a pair of wings to protect you
you must believe
believe that we will be like the fairy tale story
hapiness will be our ending
write our ending together

Slow Dance
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
I received this poem from a forwarded email. It is apparently written by a terminally ill young girl in New York hospital and sent out by her doctor. It is stated that The American Cancer Society will donate 3 cents per name to her treatment and recovery plan.

bad bad week
and it's only begining of the week! my ibook was working fine in the morning, then instead of switching it off, i closed the lid and left it to sleep. an hour or two later, i open the lid again but the light on the display doesn't come back. i closed the lid, and open it up again but still no light. so i switched it off. the next day, i turned it on and i can faintly see the login screen through the darkness. :( hope it's nothing major. planning to bring to it to fix tomorrow morning.
my tire got punctured yesterday. my car was parked at my client's building and when i got to my car after the meeting, i noticed that it's flat. luckily i managed to call my colleague for help. he came over and helped me changed the tire. while i was waiting for him to arrive, it occured to me that about 2 years ago, he too helped me when i was involved in an accident. anyway, when i brought the tire to the tire shop this morning, they said the cut on the tire looked like it was done on purpose. i'm shocked! my car was properly parked at a parking spot so why would someone do that to me?

52.50?!
that's the amount i paid to fill up my 'lil car's gas tank a few days ago. i never thought a small car needs over 50 bucks of gas. and it only lasts for like 10 days, which does not include going out on weekends. this (10 cents per litre) is the most significant increase in gas prices so far and rumour has it that it'll be increased again. sigh! too bad there's no train stations around my home or workplace.
this past week has been a lot better; shorter working hours, less stress, one surprise deadline which we managed to handle well, and more time spent with loved ones. :)
there are still quite a number of minor stuffs that needs to be done for marine to rollout on june 1st. target to complete in 2 weeks. also, client wants me to travel with them to demo the system. it would be a nice break for me but with so many projects on hand, i might get someone to go instead.

Idealist
You Consider Love To Be 85% Idealistic, 71% Positive, and 14% Important.
You are the Idealist. You view love as positive and idealistic. You most likely consider sex without love to be something abhorrent. Love for you is more than just a physical sensation. Not only that, but you see love as something wonderful and great, and you are very optimistic about it. Strangely enough, however, you have priorities elsewhere. Romantic love is not something you see as very important in your life. Perhaps you are more concerned with success, philosophy, friends, and so on. In short, you see love as wonderful and idealistic, but do not necessarily see it as something essential to living a wonderful life.

Shower in the dark
Power went out when i was in the middle of a shower last night. So had to shower in complete darkness as the bathroom is in the middle of the house. When I got out of the shower, my family had just lit up the house with candles. I got a torch light and went to my room to dress.
Couldn't do anything, not even sleep as my hair was wet. Thought of going online with my ibook but no power means no wireless broadband. Furthermore, cell phone was running low on battery and was only charging when the power went out. Ended up flipping the papers with a candle next to it. Was already feeling tired and sleepy. Luckily power came back up 2 hours later. Quickly blow dry my hair and went to bed. When I was just falling asleep, colleague called to ask about the outcome of the earlier meeting. Still slept soundly after that and took a long time to get off bed this morning. Hair was in a mess!

Bali trip
Didn't really enjoy the trip. I was not on a holiday mood nor a shopping mood at that time. Just wanted to be lazy after all the long hours in the office.
The first night was alright as we walked through Kuta town and had some tasty local food. There's a very nice looking and very huge pool next to the HRC that's opened to be public but it's super expensive. I think it's like RM40 per entry. Got pretty tired from all the walking so didn't join the guys at the pool for night swim.
We took a guided tour the next day and went to Ubud. That's for shopping and stuff there are real cheap. Almost everyone were busy checking out stuff and buying so I felt I should buy something too and got a few items. After lunch, we went to visit the King's temple and the monkey park. Later, we went to Tanah Lot to see the sunset. It was a dissapointment as there were clouds blocking the sun just when it was setting. sigh!
The 3rd day was a free day and so after breakfast, I went to laze on a deck chair on the beach with my book and ipod. About 30 minutes later, the girls said they're going out for massage and shopping. I felt that it's too early to head out but since they're going, I followed cos I didn't want them to worry if I were to be alone. While we're having late lunch, there was a procession along the street. Did more shopping, went back to the hotel and dropped the bags off and head to the massage place. Massage was pretty good especially the legs (after walking for the whole day). After that, we walked to the hawker center and tried some of their local food like terang bulan, martabak, rojak, some sup based noodle which I have forgotten the name, etc. We ordered so much food but it only cost Rp 10,000 each.
I missed the beach. 2 of the guys went and saw 10m high waves! It was full moon so the tides were high. The locals were also having some sort of ceremony, thus the procession.

absent-mind part 2
yesterday, when i head out to work, i forgot to bring my bag of clothes for pilates class. due to an unforseen event, i didn't make it to the class either. today, i left my car keys in my car for the whole day. luckily it was parked inside the office compound. i only realised that my keys were missing when i digged for them inside my bag while i was going to get my car.
4 days in a row is a record! what's up with me? it better not get worse. sigh!

absent-minded
yesterday, went out earlier than usual to have breakfast at mt. kiara before heading to work. just when we're going over to the store, i realised that i forgot the KEYS! so, i had to drive all the way home to get the keys and ended up almost 30 minutes late. didn't think there was any customers though. thank goodness. then when it was time to close the store, we couldn't find the lock. luckily we found it inside a box on the counter.
today, i left the office without the documents for tomorrow morning's meeting. i was almost half way home and had to head back to the office to get the documents. luckily one of my colleagues were still there so i managed to get in and get my stuff. ended up had to pay 2 extra toll. sigh!
why??? too much on my mind? stress? hope it doesn't go on for the rest of the week.

Pilates
Pilates is a method of conditioning that transforms and rebalances muscles and skeleton into a longer and stronger body. It is based on six original principles: Control, Concentration, Centering, Precision, Flowing Movement and Breath. Movements are initiated from the core and are corrective in nature.
In the words of Joseph Pilates: "In ten sessions you will feel a difference; in twenty sessions you will see a difference, and in thirty sessions you will have an entirely new mind/body awareness."
I've had 2 sessions so far and I feel that it's good for me. It helps to develop flexibility, strength, agility and resiliency in me. A pretty good stress buster as well!

So stop waiting...
Until your car or home is paid off
Until you get a new car or home
Until your kids leave the house
Until you go back to school
Until you lost ten pounds
Until you gain ten pounds
Until you get married
Until you get a divorce
Until you retire
Until summer
Until spring
Until winter
Until fall
Until you die
Until you get a new car or home
Until your kids leave the house
Until you go back to school
Until you lost ten pounds
Until you gain ten pounds
Until you get married
Until you get a divorce
Until you retire

Makes me realised that I have been putting off some things for too long. The first decision to make is to begin and then to make a commitment.

Long bath
Had a long warm bath accompanied by tealight candles. Really a great way to unwind after going through a rough week. When I'm almost done, fireworks started blasting away again. Such a mood killer!
Snuggled in bed and watched a movie after that. So relaxing. Wish I can do it more often. Looking forward to a better week. :)
